An INTJ according to Myers-Briggs Type indicator, Jessica Lee definitely agrees that she generates energy from being alone, but this never stopped her from stepping out of her comfort zone. Recently, Jessica was offered to be an assistant to a researcher who is running a research in Malaysia. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and even it was near the exams, she managed her time well enough that her exams had the most attention she could ever give and at the same time, maximized every experience that she was going to gain from this job. Being a very organized and goal oriented student, Jessica believes that experiences as such is one of the important elements in being successful in any field that she is going to venture it in the future. She believed that she has begun her journey even at this age and this job marked her first step in chasing her goals of being a child psychologist or a research psychologist specializing in the criminal field. Since the beginning of A level, Jessica had already set her own goals of which are mentioned above. The subjects that she takes, the books that she reads are all directed to this path and being a goal oriented person definitely helped to keep herself on track.
In addition, with introverted intuition dominating my personality, Jessica tends to observe the world a lot. Not only does she gather information quickly, she also understands in a rather fast speed. Applying the concept learnt to basically anything possible is also a constant habit of hers. She believes that this is rather useful in the field of Psychology because this course requires not only understanding but also application to the real world scenario. INTJs are ambitious, self-confident, deliberate, long-range thinkers, and she believes that these traits that she has will definitely be a great help in achieving her goals.
Although Jessica has already shared her goals and visions, she also has many other dreams that come after being a research Psychologist. She believes that there is a fine line between goals and dreams. Goals are focused which is reality. She believes that most of her plans and actions revolve around the goal whereas dreams are less focused, not reality, they are like fantasies. She dreams of becoming an air-stewardess looking pretty everyday with the advantage of traveling around the world. Even though she believes that the chances of her being an air stewardess are very slim, it will always remain a dream. Just because it doesn’t cost to dream!
Besides that, Jessica's hobbies revolve another side of her passion which is in the area of business. Since 12 years old, she was her mum’s assistant whenever she sets up her accessory booth at the Mont Kiara Sunrise flee market. It was from her parents that was where she first picked up business as an interest. She started by setting up an online blog shop selling clothes and when she realized that a lot of blog shop owners have no time to promote their blog, she set up a small advertising business called “Too Busy For Money” which aids to promoting blog shops for a small fee. From there Jessica ventured a little further and started a blog on styles and college fashions that updates especially college students on the latest trends and fashions and the do’s and don’ts when wearing certain trends. Not only does she get to share with the readers about fashion, she also gets to earn profit when the blog gains a stable amount of loyal readers.
In addition, another hobby that Jessica has is reading. As much as it sounds like a small girl’s primary school essay, she does have an interest in crime which leads her to the crime and thriller genre. Although she only started out with love stories like any other girls, she got addicted after reading the first few pages of Jeffery Deaver’s The Broken Window. From then, she never looked back, and started her Jeffery Deaver collection. Some of her other favorite authors include James Patterson and Sidney Sheldon.
Knowing her goals, interest and dreams, Jessica finds that our interest sometimes is not what we are not always good at but something we really enjoy doing. On the other hand, she believes that goals are also mainly from our interest but we have more drive and focus to achieve it whereas dreams are only dreams, until unless we give them legs and turn them into goals. She ends with her all time favourite quote that says : “living your life without goals or dreams is like finding a place without any address, you’ll always end up lost”.
