What defines a person? Is it a trait, a job, a lifestyle, a belief? Or is it the way they look or the way they talk or is it all in a name? If you type the word Izram you will find that it is a code name for a virus. Which is kind of hilarious on the flipside, Izram is also a title of a 259 page Mexican poem which adds a kind of romance to the name. Could it be that a piece of literature with Izram as the title could be written. In all seriousness, the meaning of Izram as told by his beloved mother is the protector of light. Well that can be put up for speculation. The protector of light has kind of avant garde kind meaning for Izram. I would say Izram as the protector of light sounds a bit nonchalant.
Well would it mean that someday Izram would become some superhero like in the movie or some saviour of the world? I would think otherwise. But if a name is what defines a person then the meaning of Izram the protector of light can be said to be true that from his view that he likes to uphold the goodness in all people although he may have his faults.
But as a whole a name does not define the person. There are many variables such as the environment the person is in, the individual’s upbringing and the individual’s family.
In Izram's point of view, family is a vital part of his life. As it consists of a tightly knit group of individuals consisting of himself and his mother; Izram's father passed away when he was really young due to lung cancer. Although there is a loss of a family member, it has made his family unit stronger, due to the fact that he has to become more independent and willing to explore. He also feels that his mother has brought him up very well in the past 21 years of his life since he was born in 1990 which is also a factor to the loss not being so evident. In some ways it has made Izram a stronger person.
So what defines him, the man, the boy, the human being? Well it is striving for understanding. That is also the reason for pursuing his degree in Psychology at HELP University College; to understand himself and the world around him, for instance why do people tend to follow what others say when they think differently? This could be due to a herd mentality. Furthermore, how an individual acts can be due to nature or nurture. These conundrums are the types of topics that have caused Izram to change how he views the world around him.

Izram also has a great interest in music and sports. He plays a variety of instruments; among them are the piano, guitar, and the bass. One of the main reasons he loves playing guitar is that it is a form of connection with his late father as he loved playing the guitar as well. Furthermore he occasionally plays at open mic’s sets in Kuala Lumpur which allows him to express his love for music because music is basically an expression of self.
Furthermore, he plays a variety of sports including football, basketball, rugby, and taekwando. The most enjoyable sport to play is football as it is a team sport and it enables him as an individual to learn team ethic. An individual also gets to bond with his teammates through sports and there in forms a comradely bond between the team members. Another sport that he feels has helped him develop as an individual is taekwando. Due to the fact that it has thought him discipline and control.
In the end, Izram hopes one day to be involved in the field of Psychology. Specifically to be an individual who contributes to the community around him to assist with the problems they face. Along this journey he hopes to further my studies abroad to the United Kingdom to broaden his view of the world. As they say 'life is but a journey, so enjoy it'.
